Govinda’s Stones Cnr hours for 22nd-23rd August

Dear customers,

Govinda’s @ Stones cnr will be open as usual for lunch on Monday 22nd, but closed for the evening as we will be celebrating Krishna’s Birthday at 32 Jennifer st, Seventeen Mile Rock- starting at 5pm. All welcome!                     On Tuesday 23rd Govinda’s at Stone’s cnr will be closed for both lunch and dinner for the celebration of the appearance of the Founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness-Srila Prabhupada. The program starts at 10:30am at Seventeen Mile Rock nd all are welcome.           Stones cnr Govinda’s will reopen as usual  on Wednesday the 24th August.  Sorry for any inconvenience-ys Govinda’s staff.

Date, Orange, Walnut & Banana Semolina Halava Pudding

The secret of good halava is to roast the semolina very slowly for at least 20 minutes, with enough butter so as not to scorch the grains. Steam the finished halava over very low heat with a tight-fitting lid for 5 minutes to fully plump the semolina grains; then allow it to sit covered for another 5 minutes. Fluffy, plump grained halava is best served hot, on its own, or with a spoonful of cream or custard. Serves 6 – 8 persons, or a couple of halava addicts.
